Baby Laundry with Rockin Green

I like to keep things simple in my life.  When you walk into my home you will find a modern space with no clutter - look in my closets I dare you.  The less "things" hanging around the better in my book.  So when it came to baby I wanted a swing that would also be a bouncer, a high chair that would convert to a toddler chair, a nursing cover that would double as a grocery cart cover, etc.  I am also a fan of multipurpose cleaner.

Then came laundry.  Babies have sensitive skin, but I already used an all natural fragrance free option for family so I thought I had things covered until I started looking into options for cloth diapering.  If you search the web you will find that many laundry detergents will work for cloth, but some are better then others.  Since I am starting fresh, and want my diapers to last I decided to pick a new detergent with the highest rating.

I quickly found that I was unable to purchase any of the top rated cloth laundry detergents locally so I turned to Amazon since I have a prime account and get free shipping.  I was able to find a detergent with prices on par with what I was previously paying in stores for my all natural option that was highly rated for cloth diaper laundry, and it was Rockin Green.

Rockin Green is an all natural laundry detergent that is marketed to cloth diaper enthusiasts.  It has a unique formula that allows you to pick your formula based on if you have hard, soft or normal water.  I use the soft rock formula to fit my water style.  This detergent gets great reviews, and is made of all natural ingredients that are safe for cloth diapers, baby, and the whole family.

So I bought a bag, and was so sold by the reviews that I threw a fancy scoop in with my order as well.  The detergent is measured in tablespoons / teaspoons so you will want a separate scoop to measure that does not come in contact with your food.  You could also grab something at the dollar store, but I liked the magnet on the Rockin Green brand scoop so I splurged a little.

When the detergent arrived I did the first test with regular old household laundry, and loved the result!  I go with the fragrance free version, and my laundry came out fresh and clean.  I can even get 45 loads out of a small sized bag which is a bonus in my book.  I also skip dryer sheets (which are bad for cloth diapers) in favor of wool dryer balls that I made myself to keep all of the unnatural fragrances out of my laundry basket.

I have since washed regular laundry, baby clothes, and cloth diapers.  I have to say that I am sold on Rockin Green, and will be using it for all of my laundry.  My laundry is fresh, eco-friendly and most importantly CLEAN!  I had to make a small change for the cloth diapering to come, but in the end I am glad that I did.

I know that when I have a baby I will be using cloth diapers so this post was really informing, as I had no idea about the detergent to use and was absolutely not aware about the dryer sheets being bad for cloth diapers. Thanks hun the happily ever after project
