Imse Vimse Flushable Diaper Liners

I recently wrote about gDiapers, and one of my main reasons for liking this brand was the option to use disposable inserts instead of cloth.  Of course when you add buying disposible inserts into the mix of cloth diapers the cost goes up, even though they are still environmentally friendly.

Today I discovered by chance the Imse Vimse flushable diaper liners that give similar convenience at a more affordable rate.

This diaper liner comes on a roll where you simply tear off each liner as you need them.  You place the liner on top of your cloth diaper insert inside of the diaper against your baby's skin.  The liner lets liquid pass through, but collects the poop.  You simply flush the liner and poop saving you a mess in your diaper laundry.  They are made from unbleached paper to be safe for baby, and are septic tank ready to be safe for your toilet as well.  You still need to wash the diapers after use, but for the cost difference they are convenient enough for me.

On Amazon gDiapers flushable refills run $54.00 for 128 refills which comes out to about $0.42 each.  With the Imse Vime flusable diaper liners you get 200 liners for $11.81 which comes out to about $0.60 each.  With that kind of price difference I will do an extra load of laundry here and there!  I tend to find the best prices on Amazon so that's where I do most of my baby shopping comparisons.  This price comparison is for the baby size of each product, you will find prices slightly higher for a toddler.

So cloth diapers with liners it will be for me!  Consider my registry updated with my new find.

I am soooo glad I don't have to spend $ on diapers any more ... it's amazing how much they are ... but looks like you found a great alternative! BTW, did you get rid of GFC or did you ever have it? I added you to my circles (still learning about that) but I do have GFC still ... Stopping to follow you from today's hop - hope you have time to visit soon and return the favor :)

I do have a GFC link ... it's the 3rd from the right on the top panel of links.

I am on my way to visit your blog!

I'm leaving my comment for Thirsty Thursdays on this post, instead of the swing one because this one applies to my soon-to-be kiddo. Since we are adopting and likely they will be about 1-2 years old, I'm definitely interested in the Imse Vimse diapers. With baby #2 (also adopted) I used cloth, mostly Fuzzi Bunz and gDiapers. I want to do the gDiapers because my husband doesn't really do the cloth diaper thing. I'm curious to see if the Imse Vimse work just as well as the gDiapers and if I can use the gDiaper pants I already have with them.

Great blog! I'll be hitting your past gear posts. The babymel bag is good (I had the Storksak version). I've tried most every diaper bag and stroller on the planet! It'll be fun to read about someone else's likes.

Andrea - I am interisted to see how they work too. I love the gDiapers, but in a practical way the Imse Vimse with a one size fits all diaper seems more cost effective. If you get to use them before I do make sure to let me know how you like them!
