Muslin Swaddle Blankets

After reading The Happiest Baby on the Block swaddle blankets skyrocketed to the top of my must have list.  Swaddle blankets come in many fabrics and color combinations so it was time to narrow down my choices.

I decided that a muslin swaddle blanket would work best for my lifestyle.  I live in a warm climate so a light breathable fabric like muslin was a must to keep baby at a comfortable temperature.  If you live in a colder climate then you might want to chose a fabric like fleece to keep baby cozy.

Swaddle blankets will replace receiving blankets on my list.  You can swaddle with a receiving blanket, but their rectangle shape is not ideal.  I can use my swaddling blankets both to swaddle baby, and as a blanket, nursing cover or burp cloth as needed.

If you haven't read The Happiest Baby on the Block I highly recommend it, and if you need a lesson on how to swaddle your baby check out the book, or this link.

My son is 16 months now, but the Happiest Baby on the Block worked wonders for us. We used the swaddleme blanket with the velcro tabs, very easy to use. I'm a new follower from the Monday blog hop.

Interesting. I used my receiving blankets for all those uses too. The smaller ones were not always very effective though.

I haven't yet tried to swaddle with a rectangular shaped blanket, just the square. I'll have to give it a try.
