Fisher Price Rock & Play Sleeper

I am anticipating the arrival of my baby, and have put a lot of thought into sleep.  I have thought about places where the baby will nap as well as how I can make my life the most convenient so I can catch a few zzz's every now and then.

There is a traditional crib in the nursery already, but I wanted a place for baby to sleep nearby my bed in the early months.  I looked at bassinets, but when I discovered the Fisher Price Rock and Play Sleeper I thought it would be a better fit for my lifestyle.

During the preparation for baby process I have been trying my hardest to get the fewest items possible that I can get the most use out of for the lowest price.  The Rock and Play Sleeper has a great price!  It runs around $50 depending on where you pick one up and is carried by most big box retailers that have a baby section.  To me this is reasonable for something I will only be able to use for a few months.

So the Rock and Play Sleeper is affordable, but why did I chose it over a more traditional bassinet which can also be acquired at an affordable price?  The big selling point was portability.  This sleeper is lightweight, and folds up compactly to make it easy to use for travel or in any room of the house.  I have an upstairs nursery and a downstairs studio where I work so I like the option of having baby nap in the same room with me while I get some business tasks checked off of my to-do list.

A bassinet may be cuter and more traditional, but for me this product is much more functional for my lifestyle so on the shopping list it goes!
