I tried, I really tried! I tried to keep my baby registry practical and useful. This is my first baby so I went into the journey needing absolutely everything. The more and more I talked to friends I realized that people were not so thrilled with my requests for cloth diapers, and natural body wash. Instead they wanted to buy cute outfits and booties. I am stubborn, and have plenty of clothes to get me started, I want practical gifts!
Well, for someone out there I just added a want instead of a need to the list. I have wanted to make a belly cast as soon as I found out I was expecting. I love the idea of preserving my journey in a way that is more tangible then a series of snapshots. I haven't yet decided if it is something I would like to display or keep private, but I know it is a memory I want to have. So being that it was something I was going to splurge on at the baby store anyway I added it to the list. I will let you know how it turns out when I get big enough to use it. And I will keep strong on keeping the registry practical - we will see how I do!
